Lou Taylor was born in a small town in Ocean County, New Jersey, and shifted to Keansburg, New Jersey, as a two-year-old. Lou Taylor was raised in New Jersey with no interest in the performing arts. That was changed forever when his aunt had convinced him (through bribery) to try community theater When he was only at the age of 10 years old. After the passing of 2 years, he appeared as Friedrich in a production of “The Sound of Music“. He attended and graduated from a boys Christian academy in Lincroft. His path then led him to move to the other side of the country to start his adult life in Venice, California.
Lou Tayler had his acting breakthrough in the leading role in Thumbsucker (a 2005 film based around an introverted high-school boy), for which he won several awards including a prestigious award from the Sundance Film Festival as well as from the Berlin Film Festival. Some of his other notable roles include playing Lee in Chumscrubber (2005), Paco in Fast Food Nation (2006) where he performed alongside many A-list celebrities such as Bruce Willis and Luis Guzman, a lead role as Mercer in Go Getter (2007), and Danny Green in Carriers (2009). He played in a starring role of “Evil Dead” in the 2013 remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 original and he also starred in the thriller “Spring”. Lou Taylor currently stars in the new Apple TV series Physical Tyler, which is about a videographer who spent his career filming pornographic movies but decides to make a change and begins filming aerobics videos. Beyond his more notable roles, he also played Ben in the horror film “Avas Possession”. Lou Taylor became one of the most promising young actors of his generation with several award-winning performances. On television, he had memorable recurring roles in American Horror Story, You are The Worst, and as Benji in Netflix’s hit series “You”.
