I’m a huge fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and have been for years. They are my favorite NBA team, but there is not a lot of information out there about their owner, Wes Edens. So I did some digging to learn more about him in hopes that it would help me know what to expect from his ownership group going forward. So here are at least 10 things you probably didn’t know about Wes Edens. It turns out he has been involved with quite a few interesting projects over the past decade or so. Here is what I learned:
Wes Edens is a fascinating person, but it can be hard to get an understanding of who he really is. This article will give you a better sense of who Wes Edens truly is and why his experience as the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks makes him such an ideal fit for this team. Most people only know him as a successful entrepreneur and the co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. But did you know that he was also an NBA All Star, played college basketball at Oregon State University, or that his father is a retired Air Force colonel? Wes Edens has had quite a journey to becoming one of the most prominent figures in sports ownership today. He is an NBA All Star – In 1986, while playing for Oregon State University’s men’s basketball team, he led them to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1959 by scoring 22 points against Stanford in the opening round game (which they won). He went on to score 24 points against Houston Baptist in the second round before losing 64-60 against Louisville. His 2nd highest scoring game came later on during his senior year when he scored 25 points against Washington State. I’m pretty sure there’s more to know about him but let’s salute him and leave it here for now.
